The
Little Red Chair
by Sharon J Bryant

The chair you are looking at
Was very special to me
Wonderful things happened
That only my daughter could "see".

It was in this chair she saw
And talked to the "little boy"
The one who told her things
About the room and the toys.

This isn't a magic chair
But one that he once loved
And yet he came back
From his home in heaven above.

To tell his sister things
That she could never know
This chair proved to me
That heaven is really so.

I'll always remember the things
I heard her say to him
How she'd hold up something
And then say "ok" with a grin.

So many things can happen
That we don't understand
But I know my daughter saw my son
In this chair in another land.

This photo was taken at Christmas
On the last year Andy was with me
I've learned there truly is a Heaven
This chair has proven that to me.

It's been my "sign" that helped me
Get through the rough days that I've had
I look at this photo often
It no longer makes me sad.

This photograph is of the Litte Red Chair that my son Andy had visited and sat in while he spoke to my daughter.  Amy had many conversations with him in his room.
I had left everything the same in his room.  His toys were still in his toybox, his clothes still in the dressers and closets. . . and the chair sat in the corner where he used to sit and read his books.  It's the same chair he stood on and watched three little birds hatch in a nest.
My parents had given him the chair the last Christmas he was on earth with us.  It has always been my proof that there is something else other than this life we know on earth.
There is no way Amy could have told me the things she did, not knowing Andy.  Andy visited her many times in the room, always sitting in the little red chair.  I have tried to find every explanation I could for what happened concerning this chair and after all the years that have passed, I still cannot come up with one... other than my daughter had visits from a brother she never knew.  A brother that came to her, talked to her and told her things she could not have known.
