AUGUST 8 200543 boxes sent to 3 different camps in Iraq |
|
We are accepting monetary donations to cover postage for the items that many of you have so generously donated. |

| We have gathered everyday products (things we take for granted) to send to our soldiers. They aren't able to drop by the Wal-Mart to replace what they have used or lost from their pack. |
Whether you support this war or not, please help us support our troops. They didn't ask to be stuck in the sand, away from their families. These soldiers are someone's son or daughter; brother or sister; husband or wife; father or mother; aunt or uncle. Let's show them we care. Write a letter or Send a card (with your first name & where you are from) It would go far to making someone's day. Let them know we appreciate their sacrifice. |
Sharon has joined forces with a fellow named Bill from Michigan to sell stickers of the photo he took of his daughter [see below] - - one way to try & raise money for postage. |
|
These are 4 inches tall by 5 inches wide and they are on high quality white vinyl, bumper sticker material. They work really well on a window because the light behind them makes them glow. |

We also donated 10 boxes to a National Guard unit to help them fill their shoe boxes they are shipping to the rest of their unit that is stationed in Iraq. So a total of 58 boxes went out on June 10. The National Guard met us at the post office and picked up their items. |

8 July 2004 News from Sharon I wanted to share with all of you the wonderful news I received today. Just this week, 16 of the 21 boxes that we sent to one location in Baghdad arrived. The Company Commander sent an email to his friend then I got the news. There are 25 tents set up in this camp. There are 180 men in this unit. A box was given to 16 of those 25 tents and then the troops started opening them. I was told they went crazy, whooping, and yelling, "OH YES, OH YES" as they saw the items we had packed. They said the soldiers would be running with a couple dozen toothbrushes in their hands, then they'd run into another tent and yell, "We've got a LOT of extra toothbrushes, did you get soap we can swap out?" They told me the guys were having such a great time swapping items, sharing items, and reading the cards and letters from the folks who have been kind enough to send one to the troops. The man who told me this said, "Sharon, it's like they were playing show and tell and they loved everything they received. They got so excited." And then the good news.........he told me he wants to pay for another 20 some boxes to be sent when we ship out our next shipment!! Imagine getting so excited over a toothbrush or a bar of soap. Imagine that meaning so much to you. This is why this project is working. This is why I do the press work that I do, interviews, anything to get this out to the public to let everyone know how much something so little can mean to a soldier so far from home. I appreciate what they are doing for me and my family. God Bless them all. Let's get those cards sent to me. We will be sending out a big load of boxes in August. I would like to have a LOT of cards to distribute among the boxes that will be packed. Come on America........this is our troops. Our men and women who are laying it on the line for you, me, and our country. They need us. They need our support. And.........we need them. |

| Sharon & Tracy have been interviewed by Karen Lahane, NBC13 in Birmingham AL, & will be re-interviewed in early May to check on the progress of the drive. NBC13 added a link to this site April 29th, which we hope will allay people's natural fear of being duped by internet hoaxes. |
![]() The school children in Bibb County are laboring hard to let our soldiers know how much they care. From pre-school to junior high, these young folks have embraced the idea of "talking" to our troops & telling them they are loved. |

| Why not do this in your town? Gather items or donations and cards from neighbors. Put boxes in stores & churches. Contact area newspapers, radio or television, & veterans groups about the drive; garner their support. |
